Description

Python/C# Developer

Location: Remote
Rate: Up to £270.00p/d PAYE
Duration: 8 months
Extension: Likely
IR35 Status: inside

The project is developing a revolutionary new technique to store data in glass using femtosecond lasers and read it out using advanced optical imaging techniques. This position is for a proficient software engineer who will have the opportunity to impact the design of this exciting new storage system by helping develop the software driving the system.

They have already built an early technology demonstrator.

Come and join an incredibly talented multi-disciplinary team of Laser physicists, optical physicists, electronics engineers, and computer scientists working together in a tight-knit team to build this storage technology of the future.

You would be responsible for working on the systems controlling the Laser write process.

Skills required:

  • Python, Numpy
  • C#
  • Mutli-threaded code experience
  • At least 3 years industry experience
  • BA/BSc or Masters in Computer Science or related field.

Other Skills:

  • Can work independently with minimal supervision towards defined tasks within a team environment.
  • Able to thrive in a highly agile environment where priorities and tasks change frequently.
  • We are looking for someone with excellent software design and implementation skills. The ideal person is a seasoned developer, able to work productively modifying an existing codebase, managing exotic hardware devices, occasionally in a multi-threaded context.
  • This project spans multiple disciplines, so the ability to communicate well with other team members and support overall team goals is crucial.
