Description

We have an job opening for Test Engineer with our client and the details are as below:

Job Type: Contract (outside IR35)
Duration: 6 months Extendable
Work Location: Brentwood, UK

JD:

Test Design & Continuous Improvement

  • Provide input into the development of Test Plans & Test Cases to Verify Functional and Non-Functional Quality of Networking Product Firmware.
  • Provide input into the development and maintenance of automated solutions for execution and reporting of test cases.

Test Execution

  • Manually Execute Test Cases to agreed schedule, recording results and providing data to support Investigations into any test failures.
  • Setup, Execute and Monitor Automated test runs.

Test Reporting & Documentation

  • Record Test Result output into relevant Test Reports and Log/Update Defect Information into Issue Tracking System.
  • Provide testing clarifications and result input into operational meetings where necessary.
  • Generate & maintain clear, accessible documentation of test setups and infrastructure, critical procedures, equipment inventories and test plans.

Technical & Personal Skills

  • Network testing; TCP/IP protocol knowledge; Wi-Fi standards; Network Sniffing; Knowledge on Switches and Routers; Network throughput; Network Bandwidth; Chamber Tests; Tools such as iXia, iXChariot; Wireshark etc
  • Recent Experience testing software for commercial or consumer technology in Routers, Wi-Fi devices, Networking, Gateways, Extenders etc.
  • Reliable and consistent execution of test cases with high quality defect reporting
  • Detailed understanding of; IPv4 & IPv6. TR-069 Wan Management Protocol.
  • Wireless Comms & Networking Protocols. 802.11 family, WPS, Bluetooth.
  • ADSL/VDSL Broadband Technology and Access Protocols. (PPPoA, PPPoE, IPoE)
  • Device Interoperability Standards; UpnP, DLNA.
