Governance Manager

As one of Vodafone's key strategic partners we are currently recruiting for a Governance Manager to join the team on a 6-month contract to cover a maternity leaver. This role would usually be based in Newbury but is remote working for the foreseeable.

You will Support the Head of UK Networks in managing the UK Networks function. Facilitate the Head of Networks & their Leadership Team in operating effectively together, with Vodafone UK and Vodafone Group. The role is fluid, and you will be involved with a range of initiatives that can be dictated by external and internal factors, as well as a 'core' set of accountabilities around governance. Your role will be to operationalise these asks and brings them to life across Networks. As the role progresses you may also have responsibility for discreet/distinct projects that are at an early stage or that have natural fit sitting centrally rather than in any specific function.

This suits someone who is organised, has high attention to detail and impeccable time management skills, previous exposure to Matrix/stakeholder management and has a desire to learn, to progress to a more senior role as a result of the unparalleled visibility of the way the Networks organisation and wider UK Technology operates.

Day to day support of Head of Network Development:

  • Operationalise and coordinate asks from the UK & Group CTOs, as well as the rest of the business, breaking the request down and working with functional areas to bring the ask to life to order to provide an appropriate response
  • Work with colleagues across other functions within Technology as well as the broader UK business to deliver on cross functional presentations & activities
  • Prepare update papers suitable for consumption at GMT, SLT and Plc Board level, as required
  • Capture priorities of NLT & Leadership Team in Department Reviews
  • Agree Head of Networks annual objectives with UK CTO's office & manage PD inputs, plus ensure Head of Networks objectives are cascaded to NLT and objectives are horizontally calibrated, measured and tracked throughout the year; where necessary, seek risk mitigation and recovery plans to be put in place by the NLT.
  • To prepare and create Packs

Your experience:

  • Track record of success in leading programmes/projects
  • Lead cross functional teams
  • Ability to understand issues at both Operational and Strategic Levels and to influence stakeholders to action
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • High degree of proficiency with PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Ability to interpret data including financial reports
