Description

GIS Specialist

Triad Group Plc is working with an established client on one of the UK's largest engineering and construction projects. We are seeking a GIS Specialist for an initial 6-month contract, that is likely to extend beyond that date. The contract will be home based in the current climate, but the clients head office is in Buckinghamshire and therefore there may, at some point down the line be a requirement to attend the office for some elements of project work.

You will have solid experience around the ESRI ArcGIS suite. Some background working with land and property data sets would be highly advantageous as would any experience of working on either engineering or construction projects.

The GIS Specialist will report to the sector Principal Contractor (PC) manager and is responsible for capture and updating within GIS, all details of the on-site construction works in addition to incorporation of GIS data received from partners for their planned works.

Key tasks include:

  • Ensure that works information is captured and is regularly updated to provide for a timely co-ordination with works.
  • Ensure spatial and attribute consistency and accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with project specific GIS requirements and constraints.
  • Support the PC management team to ensure location specific information is available for communication to work delivery teams and supports senior managers decision making processes.
  • Communicate directly with other GIS teams to ensure information is collected and accurately reflects intended work scope.
  • Liaise directly with construction delivery teams to ensure GIS data is up to date and records work plans.
  • Ensure system users within sector are familiar with GIS and capable of using full system functionality.

This role is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced GIS Specialist to secure a long-term role, on a high-profile project.
