Cloud Engineer - eCommerce Industry

As a Cloud Engineer you will be collaborating with our client's team to build out their API landscape as part of an eCommerce headless transition. You will be writing in JAVA Spring Boot and deploying via Docker containers running an Amazon EKS. The role will have a mix of creating new and maintining existing APIs.

We believe that DevOps is a practice, not a job title, so we'll expect you to consider performance, automation, test coverage, deployment, documentation and eventual operational issues as part of your role. We work together to improve, so if you spot something that could be done a better way we'd enourage you to speak up!

We need you to be really great at:

  • Strong experience designing, building and/or consuming RestAPIs (OpenAPI preferred)
  • Experienced in developing using JAVA/Spring Boot and Maven
  • JavaScript (react/next.js/nodejs)
  • Has experience maintaining CI/CD pipelines, bonus points for GitLab knowledge
  • We automate everything we can, so we're looking for experience with Docker, Kubernetes & Terraform
  • AWS (although if you come from a GCP background and can talk about the similarities and differences we won't rule you out!)
  • Automated API integration testing: we believe that testing is vital and always want to add more

If you know any of this even better

  • E2E testing (CoreMedia)
  • eCommerce experience
  • Developer Documentation -OpenAPI specifications for our consumers and easy to follow troubleshooting guides are a big plus
