You MUST have the following:
- Current or recent experience as a Solutions Architect/Data Architect/Technical Architect
- Expert-level Java microservices
- Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Azure
- Strong experience in defining standards, setting technical roadmaps, designs, strategies and mentoring
- Excellent ability to collaborate and manage the expectations of stakeholders
The following is DESIRABLE, not essential:
- Ability in the realms of Spark, Redshift, Apache Ni-Fi
- Corporate-level data solutions (eg SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL)
- Apigee
- gRPC, Kubernetes, Docker
- Lambda, ECS, ALB, API Gateway
- Finance, banking, investment management, asset manager
- Java certifications
Role: Solutions Architect (Architecture Technical Architect Java Programming SQL Server PostgreSQL MySQL Python Amazon Web Services AWS GCP Google Cloud Azure Microservices CI/CD DevOps Spark Redshift Apache Ni-Fi gRPC Kubernetes K8s Lambda ECS ALB API Gateway Finance Banking Investment Management Asset Manager Hedge Fund Java Contract Contractor) required by our asset management client in London. You will be the technical lead/architect for two teams in London that will totally 10 engineers in the next 24 months. Your first objective will be to make three technical hires and then begin the delivery of a next generation data distribution platform. This will involve creating the data warehouse pipelines, ingestion and then distribution. This is in the broader context of the company's strategy to outsource the middle and the Back Office. There are equivalent teams in the US, so you will be focussed on local deliverables and needs.
The company has aggressively adopted Amazon Web Services (AWS), so everything will be hosted in AWS. They are progressive with an excellent technology budget, meaning the latest tools in this area will be used such as Spark, Redshift and Apache Ni-Fi. You will report into the engineering manager for the team who will report to senior management and conduct man-management and budgeting responsibilities allowing you to over see and manage the team's technical delivery. The technology stack is Java, AWS, SQL, PostgreSQL, Spark, RedShit, Apache Ni-Fi, Oauth, Apigee, Swagger, Docker, GitLab, Jenkins, Artifactory, gRPC, Kubternetes, ECS, Lambda, ALB and API Gateway. Finance is desirable but not essential.
Finance could be beneficial but is not essential. They heavily use Spark but understand strong developers will be able to pick this up quickly.
