Description

Reply is working with a large public sector body who is currently looking for an Oracle SME who is experienced in Oracle Licensing to come help Identify, evaluate and provide recommendation on best practices/usage of license to provide the most cost effective savings for the whole organisation. If you are an business focused Oracle consultant please look below on what the project will entail:

Responsible for Oracle licensing:

  • Developing a point in time view of how all Oracle assets deployed and used across the Organisation.
  • Identifying, and evaluating versus best practice, how associated licences are managed.
  • Evaluating, and making specific recommendations about, licence usage in order to avoid unnecessary costs.
  • Identifying and proposing any necessary changes to process, procedures and tooling to consistently ensure minimum spend on oracle licences.

What you'll be doing:

  • Supporting the Organisation to interview, gather and catalogue information relating to the as-is estate.
  • Analysis of the as-is against the contract, or payment schedules.
  • Recommendations relating to what type of Oracle licensing is required the service the existing needs.
  • Recommendation of tactical and/or strategic license management tool (Not automated, may also be used other licensing of products).
  • Input or drafting of the business case.

May also include:

  • Evaluate existing software asset management (SAM) framework for driving oracle licence compliance across the organisation.
  • Ensure applicable software regulations are understood and adhered to.
  • Carry out an internal software audit to ensure an accurate overview of oracle usage.
  • Ensure the SAM tool is correctly configured in order to capture, manage and optimise license usage and costs.
  • Review and propose revisions to company policies and processes related to Software & Licensing.
  • Assist with the development and reporting of KPIs in relation to the Software in use within the business.
  • Identify opportunities to drive value and improve the cost effectiveness of the existing and future oracle software base.
  • Ensure optimal pricing and deployment models are secured by working closely with procurement, suppliers and software vendors.
  • Build relationships with major vendors and service providers to ensure that the services they provide meet the expectations of the organisation, along with being cost-effective.

What you'll need:

  • At least 5 years' experience working with enterprise asset management tools.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the following oracle licences.
  • Experience IT procurement, contract negotiations.
  • Experience with an asset management tool (eg, SNOW, SCCM etc.).
  • Experience of working with large enterprise contracts and suppliers (ie: Oracle).
  • Experience of SaaS applications vs traditional on-premise.
  • The latest industry trends/standards/tools/technologies/trends for asset management
  • Demonstrable, strong working knowledge of ITIL Service Management framework and process areas
