Description
We have an exciting opportunity for an Onsite Senior Design Consultant with Electrical/Data Cabling experience to join our client at their prestigious offices in London on a 6 month contract with potential opportunity to go permanent.
The successful candidate will be responsible for all areas associated with delivering IT cabling infrastructure design, as part of an On Site Project Team.
Key skills, roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:-
oProduction of on-site design for IT cabling infrastructure projects.
oProducing detailed general arrangement drawings/plans to enable implementation of cabling projects
oProducing detailed cabinet/frame layouts, cable density drawings and schematic diagrams
oCo-ordination of project drawings, working closely with other trades in a site environment
oCo-ordination of project drawings from information stage through to construction stage
oCSCS trained
oECS card
oClient facing
oOrganising design meetings and liaison with Main Contractors, Consultants and Clients
oAdhering to and producing designs within strict project timescales
oAccurate and methodical
oAble to work independently, self-motivated, able to prioritise workload within a busy environment, able to manage multiple projects.
oMaximising the design within the project budget constraints
oCarrying out design changes and liaising with Clients/Consultants
oProviding costs for additional works and maximising attainable profit on all opportunities
oAbility to identify, mitigate and minimise risk on initial project design and additional works
oEnsure Design Risk assessments are followed and endorsed on all client sites
oResponsible for the implementation of BS ISO/IEC 27001 data security management as it applies to your job role, while upholding the ethos of the standard, associated legislation, company procedures and policies
Quality - Ensure that design and documentation is produced and delivered to client high standards, working efficiently and to departmental and client quality assurance procedures
Knowledge:
Connectivity specific accreditation eg BICSI RCDD.
Working within the IT cabling industry for 5 years, 2 of these years in a design capacity.
An understanding of one or more of the following manufacturer product sets.
*Systimax
*Uniprise
*Corning
*Brand Rex
*Tyco
*Nexans
*An understanding and working knowledge of IT cabling infrastructure related UK, European and international standards. EN, ISO 11801 etc.
*Microsoft Suite of products.
