Developer in Test/Automation Engineer - Java - Cucumber - SC Cleared role
Digital Skills are working in conjunction with a large and high profile, Central Government department. The organisation is undergoing a number of technology-led innovations and transformations, including the development of cloud-hosted, Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Software as a service (SaaS), and integrations with other government departments.
As part of this ongoing growth, the client requires an experienced, Developer in Test/Automation Engineer with experience working in agile environments and open-source/cloud environments.
You will be required to adhere to test policy and principles and should be a highly experienced Tester.
The ideal candidate must either have current SC Security Clearance or be eligible to go through it.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop and deliver test and automation scenarios
- Undertake performance and integration testing
- Configure version controls and automation test code
- Undertake regression testing
- Interpret test results and present your findings
The environments that you will be working on are looking to take advantage of the latest in Microservice architecture and data services. You will be joining a busy team and a busy environment that will help support the development, build, and integration of these environments by testing and automating of environments, alongside development teams.
You will be working in:
- Java Development
- Agile development
- BDD (Behaviour Driven Development)
- Continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD)
- Development/Automation including Cucumber, Gherkin, Jasmine, Cypress, WebDriver, Jenkins/Drone/Gitlab and REST libraries.
Candidates are going to be required to both develop and test, therefore must have skills in Java based development languages as well as automation tools. You will be working on open source platforms, using best practice in AWS and will have the opportunity to move towards certification in areas such as DevOps if desired.
This is a long term contract, initially in 6 month chunks, however the expectation is that you will secure 3 years of work; all outside of IR35.
