PR Manager- UK based- Initial 3-month contract- Rate negotiable

I am currently working with a UK based insurance comparison site who are on the lookout for an experienced PR Manager to join their team for an initial 3-month contract which could potentially extend.

The role itself will be predominately remote focused with occasional travel to either their London or Peterborough office.

The role:
You will play a crucial role in delivering quality coverage across earned media and ensuring the company is at the forefront of personal finance, news, and consumer affairs media.

As a PR Manager, you will help manage and enhance their reputation by executing PR plans as part of an integrated marketing communications approach for their products, services, and reward propositions that they offer.

You will be adaptable and passionate across several PR disciplines including traditional media relations focused on personal finance as well as brand PR, social channel amplification, PR content for Search Engine Optimisation benefits and link acquisition purposes.

You will have agency experience and a proven track record in building media relationships. You will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with great attention to detail to thrive in their Press Office team. You will be the main point of contact for media enquiries and will ensure issues affecting their brand are managed efficiently and effectively.

You will be the key to their success in driving levels of internal and external stakeholder engagement to help support their business vision, strengthening their purpose and brand identity. You will be eager and hardworking, familiar with managing your own activity from start to finish with a strong focus on delivering results to meet their stretching targets. Most importantly you will be across the external news agenda and will bring insights into the business to help shape their PR approach.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience:
*Excellent written and proof-reading skills, with experience in drafting press releases and briefing documents for spokespeople
*Identifying news and hijacking opportunities by being across the external communications agenda, consistently applying a human lens to activity
*A proactive and adaptable nature, being able to reprioritise tasks according to business needs
*Ability to adapt between responsibilities (financial/brand/SEO PR) to meet changing business needs
*Ability to spot the potential for crisis management and appropriate escalation
*Ability to identify, plan for and manage potential reputational issues across the industry as well as brand specific
*Understanding of digital and social content and channels and their role within PR
*An interest and understanding in public affairs
*Excellent administrative organisation skills, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, as well as attention to detail
*Strong commercial awareness and a good understanding of Financial Services/Insurance or a regulated environment (desirable)
