Key Objectives/Deliverables
Reporting to the Field Manager, the role holder will be technically competent in their area of BTS/RBS implementation. This will include but not limited to installation, configuration, integration, call testing, troubleshooting & maintenance on Telefonica's telecoms network UK wide. May be requested to participate in weekend work or extended hours. The role holder will demonstrate professionalism and flexibility when contacting internal & external personnel.
Responsibilities
Responsible for working alone or in a small team
Completing all H&S documentation, including CDM
Using the correct procedures at all time
Being proactive in collecting required data and equipment ahead of schedule
Being on site at the right place at the right time with the right equipment
Installation/Configuration/Integration/Call testing tasks
Troubleshooting & resolution tasks
Raising pre-existing/new incident cases
Site surveys & audits
Completing Hand Over Packs/Completion Certification
Ensure all assigned equipment, vehicles and Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) are maintained in good working order & within calibration date.
Operational Experience
Essential -
Knowledgeable and highly-experienced, proactive maintenance on multi-customer, multi-technology networks such as: Nokia, Ericsson, Telefonica, Vodafone.
Ericsson RBS6000 including 4G AI
Nokia BTS including Flexi
At least 2 years commissioning & integration experience within the last 5 years on either Ericsson or Nokia, preferably both.
At least 6 months troubleshooting technical/investigations within the last 2 years on either Ericsson or Nokia, preferably both.
Approved & on the Qualified Persons List for either Nokia or Ericsson, preferably both manufactures.
Skilled and proficient with all radio technologies such as GSM, UMTS & LTE.
Carrying out transmission upgrades from ATM to IP
Experience of FTP, Telnet
Node B upgrades adding additional E1's, IMA upgrades and jumper new circuit orders throughout the transmission network.
Troubleshooting on elements such as BTS, RBS & including the transmission interface.
Cooperation with 3rd parties, customers and site providers to facilitate completion of tasks.
Carrying out testing & cooperation with transmission network providers including BT.
Accurately completing any Hand Over Packs & or site completion certification within agreed SLAs.

Academic & Technical Background
Essential -
Must have a background within Telecommunications or a related industry.
