Description

On behalf of a Global Leader, Clement May are currently looking for a Hardware Delivery Lead to join a project remotely starting ASAP lasting an initial 12 months.

Project Overview

The Firmware Delivery Lead role is part of a software team and will take ownership of full software development life cycle for one or multiple products.

This is a hands-on role and requires strong technical understanding of Embedded Systems software development, Hardware design and Agile software development techniques.

Accountabilities

  • Manage full product life cycle and ensure on track development and release of all deliverables

  • Capture product requirements from multiple sources in BDD format and convert these into technical requirements.

  • Conduct and participate in daily engineering review meetings

  • Manage inhouse and offshore firmware development teams, subcontractors and partners to ensure on time delivery of project milestones

  • Manage hardware, firmware deliveries, integration and testing

  • Oversee safety and regulatory compliance and overall product quality control both internally and with suppliers.

  • Organise regular change control meetings to identify, prioritise and track new requirement and defects

  • Coordinate product test cycles with QA teams to ensure timely resolution of issues found during test cycles

  • Identify and manage key risks and dependencies

  • Track and effectively communicate project status, risk status and project metrics to management, engineering teams, customers and external partners

Essential Skills

  • Highly motivated and a self-driven

  • Strong technical understanding of System Software (Embedded Systems), Hardware and Electronics

  • Solid background in Embedded software development using C and C++. This is not a software developing role but ability to understand, review and making small changes to existing code is a must.

  • Champion Agile and be able to plan, motivate and drive the Agile teams forward

  • Comfortable running planning and estimation sessions, arranging demo/feedback sessions, and producing burndown/burn-up charts and data driven reports

  • Technical project management experience

  • Skilled in change, defect and risk management

  • Defect analysis, using debug tools to extract and analyse device logs

  • Experience in Scripting languages for writing automated test cases (bash, Perl, Python or JavaScript).

  • Understanding of version control system (GIT) and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Good knowledge of software development and testing tools

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Comfortable working within a large team and with multiple overseas vendors
