*Solution Architect (Data Processing) - £550/day - Leatherhead - initial 4/5 month contract*
Security Clearance: All candidates must hold an active and transferrable SC Clearance.
We are looking to expand our development teams, which build and maintain a number of operational systems for a key client within our portfolio. The role offers fantastic opportunities to lead a team developing leading edge and bespoke technologies within an interesting and rewarding environment.
The Team is primarily focused on the development of new capabilities on our client's data platform. We need a self-starting and experienced Solution Architect to work as part of a development team working out of our Leatherhead Delivery Centre.
Candidates must have proven team leadership skills, be pro-active, take ownership of tasks and provide technical solutions and governance for a team of highly motivated software developers.
Essential skills:
- Experience of big data technologies such as Apache Hadoop, Apache Spark and YARN or other Big Data technologies.
- Solution Architecture experience as well as experience of working as a technical lead within a development team.
- Experience of designing SQL databases.
- The ability to write technical documentation such as SADs, LLDs, HLDs.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and able to communicate with both management and development teams.
- Knowledge of automation/configuration management (ie Ansible).
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of a wide variety of open source technologies including but not limited to; Accumulo, HDFS, Hive, Oozie, Apache Spark, YARN, Zookeeper, PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, Kafka, NiFi, Kubernetes, Java, Docker, Elasticsearch,
- Experience of working in an Agile project delivery environment, using SCRUM.
- The ability to write user guides, release notes etc.
- Experience of System Testing and experience of automated testing - eg unit tests, integration tests, mocking/stubbing.
- Experience of providing technical assurance for bids/proposals.
