Description

Test Automation Developer (SDET)

Basingstoke/Bracknell

Contract - 6 months

The successful candidate will be required to hold Security clearance prior to starting - candidates not holding this clearance may still be considered at a later date.

  • e2e tests - selenium (or Selenium based) - browser automated tests
  • unit tests - (eg molecule for Ansible role testing)
  • load testing (eg Apache workbench?)
  • limited manual (process based for specific things)
  • Language - Python/Limited Shell Scripting (bonus Golang)

Job description:

Work with the development team to identify the key applications that will be regularly implemented into the environment and then automate (ie code) the testing tasks to allow them to be reliably repeated through a number of test environments with no/low human effort. The tests will also record the outcome of the tests which can then be used to demonstrate compliance. Due to the nature of these environments the testing is likely to need to operate in isolation with the result feedback into a test management toolset such as Test manager for Jira.

The skills required will be an experience tester with automation background the skills they possess will need to include

  • Scripting skills such a bash, powershell, Ansible
  • Programming Languages such as python, c#
  • Knowledge of test automation tools such as Selenium and Cucumber
  • Familiar with tooling within our DevOps Toolchain included Jira, Ansible, Gitlab, Docker, Kubernetes, Elastic Search (ELK) and Artifactory
