GIS Team Leader/Manager

Brief Overview

We are currently seeking a GIS Team Leader for an initial 12-month contract in York. This contract may be extended, or the client will look at making a permanent offer after this period.

Due to the sensitive nature of the work and project, we require candidates to be either UK nationals or to have been living and working in the UK for over 5 years. The role will be Full time at the York office as none of the work can be done offsite. You will need to undergo SC level security clearance prior to joining.

The work will be a split between technical hands on mapping and cartographic work using ESRI ArcGIS Software and leading the team of mapping processors and undertaking the team lead role for the project. This will involve managing the GIS processors' day to day activities and workload, quality checking of all work, collating production figures for the senior management team, dealing with performance issues, assisting with more complex GIS tasks and providing guidance and leadership to the team.

Requirements:

  • Excellent experience using ESRI ArcGIS software.
  • Cartographic skills including digitising, land use classification and data capture.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Comfortable managing large amounts of data.
  • Quality checking/assurance experience.
  • Experience of managing people on GIS projects.
