Description
My client is looking for a contract Cloud Platform Software Engineer experienced in implementation of services and tools on cloud IoT platforms to help create Edge AI based solutions centred around the clients image-sensing portfolio of products. Part of this activity includes creating IIoT PoV (proof-of-value) solutions in collaboration with relevant internal and 3rd party stakeholders such as system integrators and end-users. The aim of conducting PoV is technical assessment of new solution in customer's operational environment and establishing commercial viability for new Edge AI servitization based business models.
Duties:
- Proof of concept cloud application development on 3rd party IoT platform for edge AI use-cases
- Independently define end to end solution architecture including integration with on premise and third-party suppliers
- Implementation of stand-alone platform features or functions where gaps in 3rd party platforms and tools particularly for edge-device management
- Compare and assess suitability of leading IoT platforms for sensor fusion and edge AI applications
- Gather and understand business requirements, translate them into technical/operational requirement
- Produce technical design and build documentation
- Travel in UK and EU likely ~5-10%
Required:
- Degree in Computer Science/Software engineering or similar with a minimum 2:1
- Strong knowledge of cloud architectures (Azure/AWS/Alibaba), and related software stack and typical APIs for IoT platform and Middleware solutions
- Demonstratable experience of implementation and delivery of enterprise cloud-native solutions/tools and on an enterprise level
- Understanding of applications design for cloud scalability, security and authentication
- Familiarity and knowledge of IT-OT systems to support industry 4.0 use cases
- Strong analytical problem-solving ability
- Interest in the application of technology to grow a business
- Combined entrepreneurial and technical approach to defining goals and execution plan
- Supportive team player
Preferred:
- Knowledge or experience on industrial IoT platforms such as Thingworx, Mindsphere, Predix, etc
- Conversant with Industrial IoT sector in manufacturing/robotics/heavy engineering sector for requirements gathering and use-case definition
