Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Digital QA
As a Test Engineer you will be responsible for the testing of applications which make up citizen services. This includes defining the appropriate depth and breadth of testing using a risk based approach, and ensuring the stability, robustness and reliability of test suites. You will work with other teams within the Software Development Lifecycle to ensure that technical solutions are aligned.
Summary of the Role and key responsibilities
Work as part of a team to carry out functional testing to facilitate the forthcoming build and implementation of the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) system to replace the Document Repository System (DRS) and the subsequent migration of other business applications from DRS to ECM.
Also carry out functional testing to facilitate the build and implementation of future enhancements to ECM both during and post migration from DRS.
Technical Skills required
Functional Testing/non-functional
Manual Testing
Automated Testing - Able to build scripts to automate the test pipeline (preferred experience of deploying to the cloud)
People would need to be cleared (preferably SC and BPSS cleared)
Behaviour Driven Development (BDD)
API Testing with tools
Security Testing with tools
Accessibility Testing with tools
End to End Testing with automation tools Selenium Web Driver/Cucumber/Java or JavaScript.
Performance Testing - JMeter (experience of Peak, Load, Stress testing)
Exploratory Testing
Experience of containers
An understanding of Terraform and Ansible would be desirable (Not to the level of being able to create new Terraform or Ansible scripts more just to have an appreciation of what they are and how to run them is required).
