Description

Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, are currently looking to recruit a Management Accountant for an initial 12 month contract on a rate of c.£/day (inside of IR35). Due to the current circumstances this role will initially be remote based.

Responsibilities:
The post-holder is responsible for assisting the Management Accountant - Reporting & Capital with the organisation's corporate budget position and reporting forecast outturns to the Board through monthly reporting and the budget review process.
The post-holder will assist in monitoring the in-year base-line budget position and ensure that additional funding requirements have been through appropriate approval levels.
As part of the budget management process, the post-holder will also assist to co-ordinate and support annual financial planning including: completion, submission and reviewing of financial plans whilst ensuring that total budget allocation is within the Budget Statement Funding.

Essential Skills:
Membership of a CCAB professional body (or equivalent)
Experience of all aspects of management accounting, including planning, monitoring, analysis and reporting.
Detailed understanding of a financial accounting system.
Accomplished people management and leadership skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of contacts and positively influence others to achieve desired results.
Ability to analyse and evaluate information, recognise potential issues and find effective solutions to complex problems.

Desirable Skills:
Experience in a senior finance role within public sector providing effective professional advice.
