Description

We are currently recruiting for a Technical Architect for an initial 5 month contract. This role will be remote with occasional travel to site.

You will be working on the GP Data for Planning and Research (GPDfPR) project. This will be to deliver a technical solution enabling GP System Suppliers to send data conforming to the GP Data schema daily to a central processing and ingestion pipeline.

Responsibilities:

  • Ownership: Technical Architecture design for the GPDfPR end-to-end solution
  • Ownership: Providing architecture oversight & direction to a number of delivery & product teams, ensuring alignment with NHS Digital principles and the GPDfPR Vision and roadmap
  • Contributing to: the ongoing maintenance and uplift of standards that form the basis of the GPDfPR capabilities within the GPIT Framework
  • Contributing to: support with the assurance of system supplier deliverables, including their mapping of clinical system data to the GP Data schema and their technical solutions for scheduled transmissions of Practice dataThe role requires significant engagement with multiple stakeholder groups such as the executive team, the business team, the development partners, external suppliers, as well as a multitude of internal NHS Digital teams such as Technical Architecture, Solution Assurance, Service Management, and Platforms & Infrastructure.

Essential Skills/Experience

  • Applications & data focussed architect with demonstrable experience of working successfully with varied development teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience of delivering high volume solutions
  • Experience of data pipelines
  • Experience of assuring supplier solutions
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Evidence of identifying and documenting functional and non-functional requirements for a project
  • Experience working in the public sector

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience of GP Clinical System data formats
  • Knowledge of NHS GP solutions
  • Experience of interoperability within Healthcare systems and associated standards (eg FHIR or HL7v3)
  • Knowledge of data privacy solutions (eg Privitar)
  • Knowledge of data lake solutions (eg Databricks)
  • Experience of working as an architect in an agile environment
  • Knowledge of and experience of using architecture frameworks such as TOGAF
