Job Title - Business Development Manager

Location - Milton Keynes - working from home for the foreseeable

Rates - £395.43 LTD/Umbrella £345.26 PAYE

Length - 6 months - extension possible

In Scope of IR35

About the role/project:

Network Rail are looking for Business Development Manager to come in and join the team based in Milton Keynes. Ideally, we are looking for someone with a sales background but understand the railway. The team currently has a range of great Engineers and Project Managers however they require an experienced BDM with outstanding Stakeholder engagement skills. You will be responsible managing the stakeholders on current projects but also looking for potential opportunities for the team to build.

Must have excellent written and oral English skills.

What you will do:

  • Provide a professional, first class, consistent and effective project management service to the clients, including project monitoring and reporting systems in accordance with Railway Group, Network Rail company standards and guidelines.
  • Participate in the development of supply strategies and framework contracts.
  • Provide detailed input for compilation of the business plan and production of the possessions plan.
  • Control project change, risks and contingency within the project life cycle and provide all cost, contingency and programme details to enable the Sponsor to obtain authorisation for portfolios/projects.
  • Comply with the Investment Competence Framework.

Your experience will include:

Essential

  • Relevant successful experience in project management
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Team leader capable of motivating the team
  • Commercial and financial understanding and knowledge
  • Accident Investigation experience

Desirable

  • Membership of the Association for Project Management or other professional body
  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt
  • A degree or equivalent
  • Knowledge of investment processes and procedures
  • Knowledge and understanding of project and contract management
