Network Engineer/Architect (Cisco UCM) - Brussels
Morson International are working with a global IT Consultancy who are looking for a Network Engineer/Architect to join their team in Brussels. This is an initial 6-month contract with the chance for a number of extensions. My client are paying €400 a day.
The Network Engineer/Architect will be involved in the:

. Design and implementation of (converged) solutions in the scope of the project
. Infrastructure assessment, Network design and Solution implementation
. Support in Resource and Capacity Estimation, Planning, Monitoring and Management
. Preparation/review/update/maintenance of technical documentation
. Delivery of technical presentations, high/low level designs
. Provision of network support/consulting for technical issues
. Ensure that best practices adapted to the environment are applied. Security by design solutions
. Handling of multiple simultaneous delivery and installation projects
. Provides technical lead for all systems
. Define the corresponding Reference Configurations to support the best possible performance for the end customer.
. Define and assist in the implementation of policies on systems use and services, with the corresponding policy checks mechanisms.
. Oversee installation, provisioning, troubleshooting and reporting with transition or operational teams
. Foster, develop and maintain relationships with technical counterparts at key manufacturer partners.
. Prepare request for changes to the environment in the particular domain of expertise and be peer reviewer of changes introduced by operational team.
. In collaboration with the customer develop the technical service catalogue and define KPIs (Key Performance Indicator) for an environment in scope of the NATACHA IIII contract
. Provide a document framework with templates to ensure quality and a homogeneous approach concerning business documentation
. Involvement in ITIL design, transition, operation and/or continual service improvement phases
. Coach junior engineer/Administrators.
. Maintain technical documentation and provide feedback on possible improvements.
The successful Network Engineer/Architect will have:

. Bachelor Degree in IT or related field with a minimum of 3 years with a minimum of 6 years of relevant professional IT experience or 9 years of professional IT experience as minimum in case of no Degree
. Minimum 6 years relevant experience in projects within the scope of the positin
. Experience in multi-manufacturer environments
. Solid knowledge of (converged) and IP-network technologies
. Architect certifications or extensive experience with networks architectures is a must have
. In-depth knowledge of IP, Gigabit Ethernet, VoIP, unified communications and Wireless-based
. Firewall, load balancing, application security, threat management, cryptography or other security technologies.
. Experience on the following is required:
o Cisco ASA, Cisco Firepower, Cisco Unified Communications, Cisco Catalyst series
o DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VLANs/WANs
o IPSec VPN, SSL/TLS VPN, IDS/IPS
o Active Directory
o Hyper-V, VMware
o Windows and Linux OS
. English required. Knowledge of French and/or German is a plus
