Senior Oracle/PLSQL Database Developer (Investment Banking Risk Technology)
Our client, a global provider of IT services, requires a Senior Oracle/PLSQL developer with a background in Investment Banking to join their credit risk team ASAP.
We are looking for candidates with a background in database development within financial industry - (preferably Risk technology) with proven experience in designing and developing database solutions using Oracle along with performance tuning capabilities.
You need to be able to work remotely from home in the UK
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the architecture, design, and development of software solutions to business problems, working both autonomously when required, and collaborating effectively as part of a multi-location development team
- Work closely with business owners, domain/data architects and other engineers to ensure optimal implementation of solution to support dashboards, reporting and analytical datasets for Credit Risk reporting and Analytics
- Exhibit agile behaviors across a global team with focus on understanding and delivering business value
- Design and develop database objects using PL/SQL
- Help performance tune queries
- Design and develop performant ETL processes in line with strategic architecture and tools
- Participates and resolve findings in code reviews (4 eyes principle) of developed source code
- Verify integrated software components by automated unit tests and integrated software testing according to the software test plan.
- Measure and analyze code for quality and performance
- Developer will be part of Agile team and need to shadow Scrum Master
Key Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of Oracle 11g/12c and RDBMS
- Understanding of Data Warehousing Design Methodology, Data Warehouse Concepts, Database design/architecture
- Practical experience of TDD (test driven development) and constant refactoring in continuous integration and test automation environment
- Experience of working in an Agile Development team practicing (SCRUM), KANBAN, XP. Familiarization with SAFe (Scaled Agile) delivery methodology concepts
- Successful background in investment banking (preferable in Credit Risk) as well as cross product or regulatory knowledge would be beneficial
- Rigorous, resourceful, adaptable with good attention to detail and strong project ownership
- Practical knowledge of Git, JIRA, Bit Bucket, Team City and uDeploy tools
- Strong written and oral communication, interpersonal and organization skills
- 8-10 years of experience in database development within financial industry preferable Risk technology
- Proven experience in designing and developing database solutions using Oracle along with performance tuning capabilities.
- You must be capable of taking decisions quickly and smartly
- You should be experienced in working in an Agile environment
- Should be a team player
