Description
An opportunity to join a leading Insurance organisation on an initial 3 month contract basis as Power BI Consultant. Insurance industry experience is desirable but not essential. Please note this is a home based opportunity working on a self employed, day rate basis.
As part of the Enterprise Architecture team, you will be responsible for both designing solutions for the business need and to perform critical reviews of other solutions submitted by Architects across the group, assisting those architects where required. An important part of your role will be the ability to balance the need of standards/compliance with the desire to provide innovation to the group.
Power BI is and has been widely used throughout the group, leading to inefficiencies in standards and Legacy dashboards cluttering the system. A fresh pair of eyes is needed to clean up and rationalize the current system, progressing to designing and delivering a comprehensive platform that defines all future use cases. Operational on-boarding and user community architectural support in the form of pattern creation and adoption, is the final deliverable.
The current variety of implementations and coming business implementations, also requires a wide array of experience including the ability to have meaningful conversations with Infrastructure and Application Architects as well as the business units to ensure suitability.
As part of the Group Enterprise Application area, the team is also responsible for providing ongoing technical expertise for applications supported for the whole Enterprise.
The role will be expected to work in a fast-pace environment with high degrees of ambiguity arising from a period of significant change. The need to be able to ramp up on any technology or topic quickly with the ability to work with others to achieve this is key to success within this role.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years' experience in Power BI preferably as a consultant
- At least 3 years' experience in a significant role implementing and rolling out Power BI globally from disparate sources
- At least 2 years' cloud architecture experience with Microsoft Azure
- Strong database and data source understanding, transport level security and security boundaries
- Experience of architecting solutions to meet security and governance requirements in financial/insurance services
- Experience working with data technologies, including structured/unstructured and transactional/analytical
