Lead Scala Developer

Whitehall Resources require a Lead Scala Developer to work with a client based in Shropshire.

Requirements:
* Microservice architecture
* API design skills and a solid understanding of REST principles
* Knowledge of SQL and no-SQL databases
* Strong AWS working knowledge including queues and serverless
* Agile practitioner
* Requirements gathering and story writing skills
* INVEST
* Gherkin syntax
* Iterative and incremental development techniques
* Feature Switches
* Risk reduction strategies
* Test automation expertise
* Sound knowledge of application security
* Sound knowledge of performance testing
* Contributor to Guilds (communities)
* Ability to introduce change without compromising on delivery

Skills & Technologies:
* Persuasiveness - Convincing a team, individual and customer that a change of approach would be beneficial
* Professional assertiveness - challenging the existing processes may yield resistance
* Conflict resolution - Adapting to a new way of working may cause conflicts within the team. Your role will be to 'sell' the ways of working to the more sceptical team members
* Adaptability - The technology stack is varied, and the problems are different in each area. The role will require you to adapt to the team you are working with
* Flexibility - Working with teams in different time zones can be a challenge when managing your own time. A degree of flexibility is required to ensure your working day is utilised effectively
* Leadership by example- Taking the lead on new initiatives and encouraging team members to step up and take the lead
* Problem solving - When moving away from the traditional ways of working, problems that arise will need to be identified and resolved
