DevOps Expert - REST API/AWS - Remote working - MUST BE BASED in Netherlands - Start ASAP
Next Ventures client in the Netherlands seeks motivated individuals to join a key team working remotely currently due to the Corona Virus.
Starting ASAP, this will be a regularly extended long term contract.
REST API expert and AWS DevOps Engineer
The client development tooling department is responsible for delivering a state-of-the-art development environment to all of the our development teams in the Netherlands. The scope of the development environment includes many tools, classical on-premise tools and tools hosted on AWS. The department comprises of several teams, each covering a part of the development tool portfolio. The functional scope is from designing and developing tools on workstations, through backlog management, source code management and CICD until deployments in production. The department supplies CICD template pipelines and pipeline building blocks that allow development teams to easily compose their pipelines and consume data in the underlying tools. We do this for a wide variety of technologies that are used within the bank.
All teams in our department work as DevOps teams and are equally responsible for both development/improvements and support.
We closely cooperate with the other teams in the department to create highly optimised and highly reliable pipelines and cooperate with adjacent teams and departments to continuously improve the pipelines and increase both the breadth and width and the level of compliancy.

Knowledge and experience required:
Software Engineering Best Practices
Experience Documenting Decisions, Solutions and Issues
Experience in Using Designing and Developing Rest APIs using AWS Services
Experience working with CICD pipelines
Experience in Big Data related Technologies and Methodologies
Ability to build Robust and scalable Data Pipelines in AWS
Understanding of Lambda Architectures
Ability to Design Futureproof solutions within the AWS Landscape
Ability to Drive Architecture and Design of Modern Big Data Pipelines
Must be able to Write Senior Level Python and Pyspark code
Must have good Understanding of Spark/Scala
