  • 3 month contract - view to extend for a further 3 months
  • £ per day

My client is in search for a Service Design Architect to join them on a busy 3 month assignment with view to extend for another 3 thereafter. This will be to Execute and own the Service Design Activity for a large scale Project

Duties and Responsibilities

Maintain and Improve the clients Service design process in line with industry experience and gained on prior knowledge. An expert in their field who will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Draft contractual service agreements, and shape them to align to the client Service Requirements.
  • Engage with suppliers and key stakeholders to align all teams to the desired outcomes.
  • Document the support model and all associated collateral eg RACI, Service Charter.
  • Chairs Service Design workshops with all stakeholders at all levels.
  • Work with key stakeholders to establish change plans for underpinning support processes.
  • Prepares plans for DT & I aspects of service provision
  • Designing how the service would fit into the Operational support teams and ensuring funding is adequate and built into business cases
  • Management of the transition, risks and issues logs
  • Contribution to DT & I Strategy
  • Developing and managing a standard set of documentation for policies and procedures in relation to Service Design.
  • Development and management of Service Design templates
  • Address all aspects of service reporting during the design process.
  • Create service road maps for future enhancements and releases to the service.
  • Matrix & task management of a variety of resources.
  • Represent Service Management at routine operational meetings and meetings with our senior stakeholders eg Change Advisory Board, Ops Board etc
  • Communicate complex information in a variety of ways
  • Processes which will improve the Service Design process and toolsets (CSIP).

Previous Experience

  • Designed and implemented process and procedures needed to design, transition, operate and improve the services
  • Good knowledge of service support in a highly complex technology department
  • Vast experience of managing teams of technical and operational staff
  • Recruiting, coaching and developing staff
  • Ability to deal with poor performance
  • End to end service planning and transition
  • Extensive experience of working alongside system architects/project managers/programme managers/system owners/training departments and technical teams to ensure services are suitably transitioned into the support teams
  • Managing and chairing service review meetings
  • Must have a detailed understanding of the end to end service management life cycle.
  • Experience in introducing new or transitioning existing services into a diverse production environment.
  • Excellent operational, programming and presentation skills and strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to translate customer and project delivery requirements into service specifications understanding resource, risk and budgetary requirements.
  • Working knowledge of managing Transition
  • Working knowledge of managing service design principles
