Customer Reference Strategist

The primary goal of this role is to develop and execute a successful strategy for customer reference fulfilment.
This role will be instrumental in supporting growth in marketing strategy by helping to ensure the customer reference program is successfully rolled out to and adopted by our sales organizations. Sellers will be able to close deals faster by utilizing an advocate as a reference. The customer reference program manager will need to be comfortable talking to both customers and sellers. This individual will need to build strong relationships with existing reference managers across the organization in order to field and fulfil reference requests in a timely manner. Part of this role will be to continually optimize the program, making it more efficient and successful by testing out new methods of customer reference activities like One-to-Many calls. This role may also include support with customer reference recruitment.

Must-have skills:
1. Experience running a customer reference program, particularly recruiting customers and fulfilling reference requests
2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. He or she will need to work well with reference managers, sellers, and customers globally, answering questions and leading trainings on a regular basis.
3. Great work ethic and critical thinking skills. Enthusiastic about solving challenges in creative ways.
Main responsibilities:
. Help sellers close deals faster by connecting advocates with prospects.
. Develop and implement a strategy for reference fulfilment, coordinating across teams with existing reference managers to ensure appropriate and timely responses
. Reach out to sales account owners to ensure the reference is viable before fulfilling and follow up with the requesting seller afterwards to ensure the reference engagement was successful and collect feedback that may improve the program.
. Track and report on the closure of deals that resulted from successful reference engagements.
. Ensure that all customer activities are being tracked in the Customer Reference & Content Portal (RO Innovation)
. Flexibility and willingness to support the team as needed.
Required Qualifications/experience:
. 5-7 years of customer reference management or customer advocacy experience
. Experience with Upland RO Innovation preferred
. Passion for working with customers and customer success
. Excellent communication, critical thinking and interpersonal skills
. This is a global role so the candidate need to be able to work with all regions.
