We have an exciting opportunity for a Windows 10 Deployment Engineer to join one of our prestigious clients on their site in Caldicot. This will be an initial 2 month contract.

Immediate start (possibly this week)

Hours will be Monday - Friday 9am-5pm

Key Tasks:

* Prepare Build room: Connect switch, Power sockets, LAN cables, phone access, KVM, monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc.
* Collect new devices (Desktops, Laptops)
* Validate for any damaged devices
* Check Hardware after unboxing, update the asset tracker with new device details such as S.No & Name.
* If any damaged device item found inform to arrange for Onsite Replacement
* Update soon after the Replacement device is delivered to Site Location
* Receive day's migration schedule and device mapping for the site
* Complete the domain join for the new devices planned for migration.
* Deploy Windows 10 OS to new devices/SSDs using Network PXE boot/USB
* Run a Tool (USMT)/Script on User's existing device (before migration) for capturing Profile Data [Instructions will be provided]
* For Device Replacement:
o Backup the user data when the user hands over the old device
o Restore the user data on the new Windows 10 device and hand it over to the user
o Tag the old device and move it to the required storage area

* For Wipe & Load:

  • User will bring the machine (laptop) to the build room and provide the required details
  • Engineer must go to user locations for desktop machines. Engineer must carry the desktops in trolley from storage location to user locations and bring back the old devices to storage room.
  • In case of SSD replacements, the old SSD removed from users' machines needs to be labelled and stored for 5 days before reusing for other migrations.
  • Backup the user data and deploy windows 10
  • Restore user data and then handover the device to the user
    * Run a Tool/Script on User's existing/new device (after migration) for restoring Profile Data. [Instructions will be provided]
    * Assist users in navigating new features of Windows 10, as compared to Windows 7
    * Assist users in restoration of data (if needed)
    * Daily Tracking & Reporting (details of devices connected, removed, etc)
    * Return old device/SSD to IT store/designated storage room
    * Update trackers with daily migration status by every EOD.
    * Assist users comes in with any issues after the migration day. Communicate the issues with offshore team and can take support if required.
    * Company tracks the NPS, so user experience should be maintained as smooth as possible to ensure to receive good feedback on the migration experience.

Key Skills Needed:

  • Previous Windows 10 Deployment Experience
  • L2 Engineer with at least 18-36 months experience
