GIS Digital Map Editor
Brief Overview
A contract position has become available with a client of ours, based in Cheddar, for a GIS Digital Map Editor. This would be an initial six-month contract, with a rate of £10.00 per hour, looking to start in the New Year.
Eligible candidates will be required to undergo (SC) security clearance.
The role will involve the production of digital mapping from a variety of source materials, in order to create final production deliverables, in accordance with client requirements. This may include editing, data processing, topological checks, visual checks for completeness and final output. You will utilise a variety of GIS software packages, in particular StruMap, depending on the individual project requirements.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Familiarisation with project specification and guidance documents.
- Data preparation.
- Data editing in relation to various themes.
- Combining datasets to create the composite product.
- Executing automated check routines.
- Implementing edits and adjustments.
- Quality control.
- Data output.
- Reports, as necessary.
- Contributing towards process improvement.
