BI Senior Analyst Programmer/Developer - 6 months Contract - Bournemouth £400 per day
My client is a European multinational financial services company with huge success across all of Europe.
You will joining the Business Intelligence department as a Senior Analyst Programmer/Developer and you will be given the opportunity to demonstrate your expertise in analysing user requirements, design and build technical solutions which satisfy customer needs and priorities.
The role;
- Working on development and alteration of the core BI system
- Database design and modelling, ETL transformation
- Working with data sources in various formats, eg Oracle, SQL, ODI SAP DS, Guidewire Datahub
- Analyse business requirements and contribute to the artefacts produced in MI solution
- Contribute to the Solution Outline and Design documents produced for MI solutions
- Deliver solutions in line with the direction
- Code and amend multiple and complex changes
- Ensure solutions are to the required quality
- Ensure that all performance, capacity and security considerations are considered
- Ensure high performance of all developed code and systems
- Unit test changes to the system including design and execution of a complex test plan
- Ensure successful implementation of complex changes
- To progress problems, including those outside own area
- Enforce company standards, quality assurance process and system documentation
Knowledge and Skills needed;
- Must be used to working as part of an external/internal virtual team or alone as required by priorities
- Have the ability to work in a collaborative and energetic environment
- Strong business analysis and technical software development skills are required in the translation of business requirements
- Experience in SAP DS and knowledge of Guidewire products
- Experience in both Oracle and in the ETL tool ODI.
- Experienced in Oracle dominated software development environments; Oracle 11g, PL/SQL, Linux or and UNIX variant, Test management & execution experience, Data analysis tools such as TOAD, SQL
- Strong coding design experience
- Previous experience in SAP DS and knowledge of Guidewire products
- Data Warehouse design & build in Oracle & ODI
- Developing high transactional Oracle applications
- Desirable to have a strong financial services background
- Experience in software management tools and processes
- Test management & execution experience
- Experience in holding logical Datamodelling sessions with end users is desirable
