Closedown Accountant - CCAB - Local Government - Remote
An opportunity for an experienced Accountant to work for a Public Sector organisation in Corby. This role will be fully remote due to COVID-19 You will be involved with:
- Prepare the annual Statement of Accounts
- Advise on emerging and existing technical accounting issues
- Co-ordinate and prepare financial returns (eg Government returns)
- Ensure reconciliations are completed on time and to standard
- Manage the final accounts process which includes planning from October to March and then implementation from April to September
- Manage the external audit and ensure accounts are signed off with an unqualified opinion
Essential skills:
- CCAB qualified, equivalent based on experience or studying towards same is desirable.
- Experience of local government year-end accounting and giving financial advice
- A working knowledge of general accounting concepts and procedures
