Platform Engineer - Edinburgh - 6 Month Contract
Our Public Sector client is offering an exciting opportunity for a Platform Engineer to join their Edinburgh based team on a 6 month initial contract.
Main outcomes & objectives:
- Deliver production Metrocluster build
- Migrate current Legacy platform (VxBlock and VNX storage) to Metrocluster
- Decommission Legacy platform
- Collaboratively deliver VMWare stretch cluster
Essential skills & experience
- VMWare 6.X multi-site environments
- Cisco UCS
- VxBlock environments
- SRM
- NSX environments
- SAN management and design
- Platform monitoring solutions and paradigms
- MetroCluster
- Fibre Channel Fabrics, including Brocade switching
- Disaster recovery planning and execution, including wider assurance activities
- Data centre management and best practices
- Windows and RHEL operating systems
- Infrastructure as code, including automation using ansible, powershell/powercli, bash, Perl and/or python
- Grafana
- Agile working practices, including Kanban
- Cross-functional DevOps environment
