Citrix/App-V Application Packager/Engineer - Banking
This is a great opportunity for someone who has strong Citrix AND general application packaging skills from a banking/financial services background to make a real difference for a major global financial services institution! This particular organisation are still doing well given the present economic circumstances hence the need for new headcounts. The Citrix Application Packager is responsible for the mapping, analysis, software packaging, successful delivery and life cycle management of numerous business critical applications across a predominantly Citrix environment.
The role will involve:
Discovery and reporting of current application estate
Package using Microsoft App-V and Windows Installer technologies in readiness for delivery to the VDI and desktop estates (Windows 10/Server 2016)
Deploy applications into the environment
Documentation
Provide day 1 support for applications migrated to the new platform
You will require the following to be considered for this role:
Considerable experience in packaging applications in enterprise environments, preferably banking and/or financial services
Good experience of application migration projects
Strong experience with Microsoft App-V 4, 5.x, MSI etc
Strong practical experience with command-line tools, VB Scripting, PowerShell
Strong practical experience of working with Microsoft SCCM for delivery of packaged content to desktop/server
Excellent understanding of Windows Client Server operating systems and packaging for VDI and desktop environments (including Windows )
Good understanding of User Profile Management tools eg Citrix UPM, Microsoft FSLogix, etc.
Working experience with applications hosted on Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop infrastructure
Strong experience Ivanti UWM including, Environment Manager, Application Control and Performance Manager
