Description

This role is to start ASAP and is inside IR35 paying up to PAYE £21.99 +holiday pay and pension or £27.43 p/h Umbrella

Working for the NHS, you would project manage the migration of application (internally and externally) from old Windows Server environments to newer versions. Technical knowledge of all Windows Server environments but will also need very good technical communication skills. As well as the migration planning of the application on the Servers, they will need to establish what the client upgrades are as well.

Duties will include -

* Ability to react and work under pressure, planning towards and working on multiple projects deadlines simultaneously.

* Attend meetings with internal stake holders and external contractors as the lead representative of ICT Operations, gathering new system requirements and acting as knowledge base for SBU IT systems.

* Ability to liaise with suppliers and contractors regarding installation of systems and services.

* Work closely with all teams within Digital Services, including other departments such as Procurement for placing of orders and tender queries, Capital Planning for input into Capital projects, Estates for electrical and building infrastructure advice.

* During installation and deployments arrange and organise downtime with end users and key stake holders, ensuring they are kept up to date on progress and address any issues as they arise.

* Produce and manage project documentation conforming with ITIL standards.

* Produce concise and detailed handover documentation on completion of projects.

* Ability to identify project risks, record them and escalate them appropriately as and when required.

Experience/skills required -

1. Understand the support level of Windows Server O/S.
2. Analyse the current infrastructure any provide a list of systems that need upgrading.
3. Liaise with end users to understand their needs and usage of vulnerable systems.

4. Contact system suppliers to understand current road maps to address Operating Systems being out of support.
5. Produce SBAR for outdated systems.

6. Deal with the procurement department to establish current agreements etc .

7. Aid the build of business case for replacements

8. Liaise with departments for upgrades
9. Work closely with the System team for the installation of new server both physical and virtual.

10. Ensure documentation is correct for the deployments of systems to clients.
