Ihre Aufgaben:
- Our clients Storage team is responsible for the operation of a large SAN environment, serving ~3 PB of raw storage to over 1000 servers. The environment is highly standardised and based on the EMC CX, DMX and VMAX storage array family and CISCO MDS FC-switches.
- The Storage Engineer will act as project lead, product knowledge leader and storage consultant for projects to propose the best suited solutions and helping to define strategy and deployment models for the future of the storage service.
- Daily storage provisioning activities along with problem solving and root cause analysis together with the vendor.
- Providing technical depth in the enterprise storage space.
- Delivering consistently high quality of output in terms of engineered and usable solutions and associated documentation and processes.
- Taking an active role in the storage team, provoking new strategies, engaging in decision making processes.
- Provide 2nd and 3rd level support to assist operational teams to resolve storage related problems with servers, networks, enterprise storage, backup infrastructure, data and application migration, etc.
- Transfer knowledge of new storage infrastructure technology to team members.
Ihre Qualifikation
- The successful candidate will work well in a distributed organisational teams of a globally acting big financial institution and is very likely to be working in a major enterprise (end-user or vendor) in a hands-on engineering or 3rd level support position.
- EMC DMX/VMAX and Symmetrix products plus associated software
- Shell / Perl programming to maintain the storage management tools in use.
- Storage provisioning and management
- SAN management
- Team player, strong oral and written communication skills, ability to work under pressure and hit deadlines
