Agile software developer with experience of coding & testing in Java/Kotlin, Python, and TypeScript is sought by our client for a high-profile government sector project.
*Our client is ideally looking for candidates with Active SC Clearance but will also look at applications from candidates who have BPSS who are willing to undergo SC Clearance*
Requirement:
Responsible for analysing, implementing, and testing application/database functionality as directed; Maintaining the application and Back Office systems; Effectively delivering the functional aspects of website applications; Developing web applications; SQL Server, knowledge of writing stored procedures
Overview of the role:
The team is working on software projects to build out the UK data platform. This platform has a microservice architecture and uses technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker and GraphQL.
Programming is mainly done in Java/Kotlin, with some Python and TypeScript. The platform is hosted in Azure.
Fundamental Tasks
* Code and test in Java/Kotlin, Python and TypeScript;
* Deploy and run the cloud-native platform using Kubernetes;
* Adapt and learn new technologies as required (eg Azure PAAS components).
* Substantial and varied experience as a developer on the JVM (eg in Java, Kotlin etc);
* Strong software engineering practices (automated testing, deployments etc.)
* Experience of developing containerised applications/microservices
* Experience of deploying solutions to cloud platforms
