Our client are a large local government body and are looking for an experienced Procurement/Contracts Manager to join their team. This is initially a 3 month contract which may be extended for the right candidate. Our client is lookinhg for someone who can come on board and lead and motivate multi-disciplinary teams to deliver procurements and contract management oversight successfully ensuring compliance and best practice.
You will closely with other functional leads including Legal, HR & Finance and internal contract owners to ensure that the necessary skills, knowledge and best practice around procurement and contract management are shared; in turn ensuring compliance and minimising risk. You will also liaise with internal and external stakeholders, representing the business, attending and chairing meetings and site visits as necessary.. You will lead and deliver improvement projects which might include; developing templates and tools, developing and reviewing processes, developing skills and competencies, identifying and implementing IT systems and create, provide and maintain reporting information for the corporate contract register and the procurement workplan; ensuring that this is up to date and accurate at all times.
To be considered for this role you will be an experienced CIPS qualified procurement professional ideally with experience of working within a public sector.environment.
