Position: Mainframe Network Systems Programmer

Location: Sheffield (Remote working due to Covid)

Contract: 6 months (Inside IR35)

Day Rate: £DOE

The Company:

A Global IT Service & Business provider who has a presence in over 50 countries are looking for a Mainframe Network Systems Programmer to come join their team on a contractual basis to work on a client's site in South Yorkshire

What you will be doing:

  • You will be configuring & supporting z/OS Communications Servers
  • Responsible for resolving network connectivity issues within the client's network infrastructures.
  • You will be configuring & supporting Network Managers, File Transfer applications, Printing subsystems, Session Managers.
  • You will help with the Standardisation of Mainframe network configurations to improve customer service.
  • Will need to provide off-hours support for the implementation of software changes, when required.

Experience needed:

  • Experience with IBM VTAM, TCPIP (z/OS Communication Server), IBM Network Sysplex Distributor, IBM Network HyperSockets IBM Policy Agent & AT-TLS
  • Experience Mainframe Network Encryption.
  • Knowledge with IDS DSME - APPN Distribution Session Management Exit IBM Enterprise Extender
  • Knowledge with IP/DLC HPR - High-Performance Routing APPN - Advanced Peer to Peer Networking SNA & IP Design for Mainframe Connectivity Design and Implement Client Requested Connectivity Solutions.
  • Experience with Routers, Switches, Firewalls Disaster Recovery Exercises Service Requests IBM Utilities
  • JCL, Batch Jobs, Procs GTF Trace/IP Trace/Dumps/SLIPs/Wireshark (Execute, Format, Read, Debug) Exits/Usermods (Write, Implement, Debug) Software Packaging (SMPE)
  • Incident/Problem/Change/Software Asset Mgmt (ITIL) Technology Enhancements
