Network Architect (SC Cleared)
Duration: 3 months

Rate: £ per day
Location: Bootle, Merseyside (remote working)
IR35 Status: Inside

An SC Cleared Network Architect is required to assist the Client who are starting the design phase of a full corporate network redesign programme - this is to move away from a Legacy network design which is constraining the organisation and its transformation agenda. You will join the programme team to help with what is a total redesign of all network services.

Essential skills/experience required:

Current SC Clearance
A track record of designing and delivering complex IT Enterprise network solutions and be aware of modern technologies and techniques of service for design in the public sector
Enterprise Networks, LAN & WAN, WIFI - MPLS, VPN and SD WAN
Designing in compliance with Security Standards for Public sector networks
Public Services Network (PSN)
Working with next gen Firewalls, including Cisco and Palo Alto
Cisco Enterprise Switches
Cisco Meraki Switches and Wireless solutions
Implementation of resilient solutions
Enterprise network management and tooling
Cloud connectivity, including Azure Virtual Networking

Duties include:

Directing the overall design and implementation of the Clients 'Network redesign programme', ensuring delivery of designs that meet both functional and non-functional Requirements
Act as a subject matter expert for network architecture
Assure that any 3rd party supplier proposals are fit for purpose
Apply a high level of understanding of all network technology including: LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, data centre LAN, SD networks, VPNs, telephony, mobile solutions infrastructure, unified comms, network management solutions, and network specific security and remote access technologies and approaches - making recommendations across HW, SW and configuration
Cloud service network connectivity
Engaging with stakeholders (at Director level) to better understand business objectives and technology challenges - to help ensure Requirements are met in the design
Recommending technology opportunities and innovations
Applying strong communication and influencing skills to both technical and business stakeholders
Build strong links for collaboration across other government departments to share best practice and insights
