Description

Our client is looking for an IT Technical Team Leader based in the North West (travelling between sites involved) for an initial 6-month contract. A current DBS will be advantageous.

The IT Technical Team Leader will lead a team of Technicians making sure their day-to-day priorities are clearly aligned and they have access to all resources and tools necessary to carry out their role.

Key accountabilities

  • Day to day management of the remote technical delivery team
  • Installation and configuration work of PC's, printers, laptops.
  • Installation of Servers and comms equipment, testing and sign off
  • Decommission of existing equipment
  • Single Point of Contact for the onsite technical team
  • Asset Management and updating IT Services CMDB

To assist in the:

  • Development of the solution, supporting the Infrastructure Team.
  • Development of documentation for the IT Services Knowledge base.
  • Develop and mentor technical engineers.
  • To liaise with customers, site representatives and IT Services to plan & resource the workloads ahead of time.

Experience:

  • Proven Experience of installation and troubleshooting of core infrastructure hardware. Eg Tier1 vendor Servers, Switches, Routers, WiFi and UPS.
  • Experience of working in often complex and challenging distributed cabling environments is highly desirable. An understanding of the difference between fibre standards and the required optics for example, is desirable along with the associated troubleshooting skills required to achieve connectivity.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills in: hardware, software and LAN/WAN networking
  • Experience working with and troubleshooting virtualised server environments, VMware ESXi 6.7 desirable.
  • Provable Experience and support skills in Windows Server
  • Experience working with Microsoft Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy and general administration skills are required.
  • Experience with Microsoft SCCM and basic troubleshooting of OS and software deployment is desirable
  • Supporting a large number of customers within a customer service orientated environment.
  • Possess a relevant Level 3 Information Technology technical qualification.

Desirable

  • Completed an A+ course in hardware, software & networking or its equivalent.
  • CCNA or HP Networking.
  • Relevant Microsoft MCP's.
  • MCSE 2008 and above.
  • Knowledge or working experience with ITIL and ISO standards.
  • Good understanding of IT service operations and information security
