Description
BAE Systems require an VMware Engineer to join their team in New Malden on a 12 month contract, starting ASAP. There will be a significant amount of time required onsite (in line with Covid-19 regulations), particularly in the beginning to get you onboarded with the team but some homeworking will be available, particularly where technical writing work is required.
This role has been classed as Inside IR35 from April 2021.
Due to the nature of this role, you will be required to have SC clearance or be SC clearable, we can only consider those with a Sole British Nationality.
We are looking for expert VMware knowledge and Horizon view experience and any experience with Powershell would be beneficial. We are looking for someone who has experience throughout the life cycle from requirements through to delivery.
Key attributes/skills:
- VMware Desktop Mobility expert. Potentially VCAP/VCP certified
- VMware Virtual Desktop Infrastructure experience
- Horizon View/Horizon 7.x + SME
- vSphere exposure
- Likely to have qualifications such as:
* VCP-DTM/VCP7-DTM/VCP6-DTM
* VCAP-DTM/VCAP7-DTM/VCAP6-DTM
* VCDX-DTM/VCDX7-DTM/VCDX6-DTM
Support production of design document for console solutions on new projects (Low Level Design)
- Bug fixing and problem resolution on existing projects (prior to Factory Acceptance)
- Resolving problems raised 'in the field' across multiple projects
- Occasional travel to other sites/platform to support issue resolution
- Liaising with and being able to hold technical conversations with SMEs in other domains (eg Networking)
- Carry out systems testing/supporting the activity
