Specialist Accounting Support
* Support Finance to implement the action plan for Financial Accounting function and meet the internal/external audit demands for the year.
* The resource will augment the technical expertise of the Finance team to conduct the compliance reviews with new and complex accounting standards and to develop necessary accounting adjustments.
Project Accountant
* Deliver complex projects.
* The resource will manage significant finance risks by appraising these at investment stages and put in place mitigations during project implementation. Aid in developing financial feasible investment options to meet funding constraints.
Key Responsibilities:
* Review and enhancement of the Financial Accounting action plan for the year - Oct'20.
* Help conduct Asset Impairment Review and IFRS16 Review - Q3.
* Hands-on work to prepare and deliver successful audit with significant progress demonstrated in closing NAO recommendations from previous year.
* Develop necessary financial policies - Q3, Q4.
* Successful year-end audit with significant reductions in audit errors identified compared with last year.
* Technical reporting in accounting issues and complex transactions, .
* Develop wider finance staff in Financial Accounting and GAAP/IFRS standards.
Essential Skills and experience include:
* A Qualified Accountant with expertise in government finances. CAAB, CIMA, ACCA etc
* Proficient in GAAP and IFRS standards and in particular fixed assets, IFR16, provisions.
* Proficient in leading practises for Financial Accounting policies and procedures that lead to 'best-in class' Financial Accounting function.
* Experience in managing senior stakeholders and influencing compliance with control processes.
* Excellent collaborating and communication skills both verbal and written.
* Excellent organisation and problem solving skills.
