Contract Assignment - AVI Engineer

Day Rate - £500-£590 a day (Inside IR35)
Duration - 6 months
Start Date - ASAP
Location - Remote
The AVI engineer is required to support the Run & Operate team managing the Private Cloud. Consultation and support is required for the efficient running of the AVI Vantage load balancer software.
This role works alongside other engineering functions and as a result the role holder will need to have a broad and extensive understanding, knowledge and experience managing cloud environments across the core technologies.
The AVI Engineer must be focused with a structured and disciplined approach with confidence to deal with challenging situations including effective internal and external communications. The role holder will also have to be disciplined in achieving set delivery dates, particularly in relation to design documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Education of the incumbent Run & Operate team in how to deploy and troubleshoot AVI Vantage configuration
- Review and complete the design documentation of the AVI solution
- Support in major upgrades and specific items of work relating to AVI Vantage
- Provide suggestions for improvements and support the implementation. eg Environment naming conventions
- Apply industry knowledge and experience to provide proactive consultation to enable the efficient running of the AVI Vantage solution within the ITPC
Requirements/Qualifications
- AVI Vantage/NSX Advanced Load Balancer with knowledge of Server Load Balancing and Global Server Load Balancing (SME level)
- Minimum 2 years' experience in delivering and/or supporting network infrastructure. Including software load balancers eg NGINX, HA Proxy
- Linux administration experience, particularly in RedHat
- Minimum 5 years' experience with high availability platforms
- Good knowledge with virtualization technologies
- Experience of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment using Agile methodologies
- Experience of Scripting and automation techniques for deployment and configuration of Infrastructure/OS Configuration etc
- Cisco CCNA and CCNP or similar
- Experience in Appliance or Software Defined Networking ideally having experience with Juniper products (Contrail)
- RedHat certification, RHCSA/RHCE/RHCVA
- Experience building, configuring and operating a Redhat OpenStack cloud
- Experience with container-based technologies such as Openshift, Docker and Kubernetes
