GCP Lead Engineer/Technical Analyst
Our client, a global provider of IT services, require GCP Lead Engineers/Technical Analysts, ideally with a background in data migration within a banking domain, to join their Data Engineering team in London.
This is a temporary 12 month contract, to start ASAP.
We require candidates who have technical Google Cloud Platform experience with analysis and technical document design skills to assist with a migration project of finance data to GCP.
Key responsibilities:
- You will work with Data Pipeline centric delivery on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- You will work within the Data Engineering team and with the Lead Data Engineers, Data Architect and Product Owner
- You are expected to draw up system and technical documentation for the existing solutions
- You will assist in requirements gathering, design, system and technical documentation
- You will be part of an agile team, take on complex problems and design and code
- You are not only expected to deliver in your area but contribute to the overall product space
- You are expected to participate in the technical innovation within your product area
- Support 'issue resolution' and improve processing performance on GCP
Experience required:
- Expert understanding of Technical Design documentation
- Good knowledge of Big Data, ETL and Google Cloud Platform products; Dataproc, Big Query, Compute, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage
- Knowledge of Industry Best Practice for ETL Design, Principles, Concepts
- Possess the following technical skills - SQL
- DevOps and Agile practitioner
- Ability to work independently on specialized assignments within the context of project deliverables
- Take ownership of supporting the provision of solutions and tools that iteratively increase engineering efficiencies
- Design should help embed standard processes, systems and operational models into the BAU approach for end-to-end execution of Data Pipelines
- Excellent communication skills & team player

- Team coaching and mentorship
- Python & Test automation experience is desirable
- A background in banking domain is desirable
