Description

We are recruiting for a Digital Developer for an initial 2 month contract in Blackpool. Due to the nature of the client the successful candidate will be required to hold SC Clearance.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, create and improve new and existing products, platforms and transactions across the organisation.
  • Have strong skills in Front End or Back End web developer (or both) and be ready to quickly get to work within a multi-disciplinary team of developers, designers, editors, and analysts focussed on one or more products or projects.
  • Build web and mobile products to serve a variety of users needs.
  • Implement APIs for internal and external use. Build up a useful, robust automated test suite to support a Continuous Deployment environment.
  • Share knowledge of tools and techniques with the wider team, both developers and non-developers.
  • Take part in 2nd-line support of applications and platforms.

Essential Skill Required:

  • Develop, build, document and operate PHP applications on Government Digital Service PaaS (Platform as a Service) and identify issues in production
  • Implement APIs for internal and external use.
  • Experience with .NET (ideally .NET Core)
  • Experience with Cypress; Experience with PHP coding (ideally with Laravel)
  • Understanding of MVC C# Web Applications; Docker; JavaScript;
  • Confident in integrating service elements such as gov.uk/verify and gov.uk/notify and establishing tools as required in line with the Government Digital Service Standard, Government Technology Code of Practice and Government Digital Service Design Manual.
  • Ensure HTML, CSS, and shared JavaScript is valid and consistent
  • Prepare and maintain all applications utilizing standard development tools.
  • Write clean, secure and well-tested code.
  • Maintain and support open github repositories for code and services
  • Implement updates to code and applications in collaboration with GDS service desks
  • Experience working in the public/government sector
