Description
Cloud Consulting have an urgent requirement for an experienced Technical Architect to join a Greenfield project for a leading blue chip company.
The role can be offered on a fully-remote basis for the foreseeable future, and can be through a Ltd Company until April.
You should have the following experience:
- Basic knowledge of shipping domain is essential
- Expert knowledge in infrastructure, networking (eg Servers, network protocols etc.)
- Expert knowledge in Cloud (any of AWS, Azure)
- Expert in integration - thorough knowledge of integration patterns (API/Message Based/Event Based/Service based etc.), design principles as well as knowledge in technologies like API Gateways, MuleSoft etc.
- Knowledge in VR, Hololens, IOT is desired as these would be used in vessels. At the very least, the candidate should be able to decide on how to integrate with these technologies with existing applications.
Role objectives/deliverables:
- Put an architecture vision for the onboard applications considering ease of use, application rationalisation, cost, technologies available onboard, network constraints etc.
- Participate in the vendor selection process for various onboard applications and help the company's team identify the right candidate.
- Communicate between the business and the business teams to clearly lay down the architecture principles, design guidance and suggest way forwards in case of complex problems.
- Lay down the integration architecture with short term tactical options and long term strategic options and showing how to get to the strategic solution from the tactical one.
- Liaise with the rest of the architecture team to make sure we are not reinventing the wheel.
