Job role
To be an Embedded operations engineer in the security engineering team for delivery of the Security Improvement Program. The first part of this Improvement Program is to continue implementation of a new security logging infrastructure design in AWS, collecting all data from our existing datacenter's. You will be both technical but keen to help form the security operations team in our service aligned team agile vision. You will need both the technical know-how, keen learning ability for our existing infrastructure, and the soft skills to build trust with existing teams.
Main Duties
- Work with IT security engineering team to complete various stages of the project initiatives.
- Scope and deliver tasks for specific security improvements
- Help form the security team needs
- Work with the operations team to implement/configure changes scoped from this project in current live operations.
- Build trust and relationships in both teams (Security & Operations) to enable work to be done to a high standard.
Skills Required
- A very good understanding of Linux Operating Systems
- A very good understanding of Networks
- A very good understanding of logging infrastructure
- A very good understanding of Vulnerability management/implementation
- A very good understanding of Puppet, Git
- A very good understanding of AWS (Kubernetes, helm)
- A good understanding of Security best practices.
- Excellent Communication and Team-working Skills
- Self-starting/Good time management
