Description
Harvey Nash's public sector client is currently looking to hire two Economists on initial three month contracts. Applicants must gold an undergraduate degree in economics (2:1 or above) or a related discipline and at least two years' relevant work experience. The role will involve contributing to projects involving economic analysis (conducted at times in house, and at times by external contractors), ranging from policy impact assessments to analysis of policy intervention options related to meeting the organisations targets. It will require you to be a good collaborator and communicator.
Core Accountabilities:
- Works collaboratively with colleagues, identifying opportunities to support their programmes and projects with economic analysis for improved quality and impact.
- Manages projects where required, co-ordinating input from others, establishing specific targets and milestones, monitoring and reviewing progress, anticipating and managing risks, escalating risks where required, and managing project budgets.
- With the support of colleagues in the Policy Team and the Procurement Team, manages delivery of work through external contractors (developing tender specifications, assessing bids, managing risks and reviewing quality of deliverables), ensuring that support provided by external contractors is consistent with the organisations policies, and delivered within agreed timescales and budget.
- Provides project-specific advice to colleagues and customers, and supports knowledge-sharing and dissemination of best practice within the organisation.
- Ensures all work is carried out in line with in line with agreed standards for quality and consistency, and with the aims and values of the organisation.
This role has been deemed inside IR35 regulations, therefore the use of an Umbrella company is required. The rate on offer is between £300-£500/day. For more information, please click the link to apply.
