Embedded C/C++ Software Engineer - Inside IR35
To apply for this position you must hold current SC Clearance or be clearable
Our client are currently in search of an experienced Software Engineer ideally coming from defence background, who is self-starter and able to hit the ground running immediately with minimal support. We expect the candidate to be SC cleared or clearable.
The successful candidate will help to develop critical products and provide excellent technical support.
Skillset/experience required:
- We are looking for self-motivated, adaptable and proficient software engineers with a range of the following attributes:
- Previous software engineering experience in the development of test solutions is desirable. We will also consider someone with solid software engineering experience and a keen interest in test solutions.
- Strong ability to write software in C/C++; experience with C# and Scripting languages would be an advantage to our future strategy.
- Proactive and able to take ownership of the software development.
- Great communication skills with a strong motivation for collaboration.
- Knowledge of electronics measurement techniques using equipment such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers.
- Experience using software configuration management tools and techniques.
- Understanding of communications and serial interfaces such as RS422, RS485, Modbus, CAN and 1553.
- Experience of developing Real Time software is an advantage
Experience and Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years previous experience in a software related role, ideally in a Defence or Aerospace contracting environment.
- Experience of developing Real Time software is an advantage
