Solution Architect - Warehouse Management System (WMS JDA/BY)
Our client, a global supplier for IT services, requires an experienced Solution Architect to support JDA/BY WMS implementation, to join their team in their clients' office in Kettering, Northamptonshire. This is 6 - 12 months temporary contract, to start on the 1st February. You will be required to travel to the warehouse site in Kettering.
The right candidate should have experience in at least one end-to-end JDA/BY WMS implementation project (greenfield and brownfield).
Key responsibilities:
- Leverage as the Solution Expert for transformational projects/programs
- Assess business needs that fall outside the standard solution, assess integration complexity, architecture constraints
- Lead the project team to design and develop functional specifications for modifications, interfaces, reports and screens to ensure smooth integration between technical and functional business requirements
- Recognize and highlight incremental revenue opportunities with existing customers/projects
- Serve as a functional liaison and attend and contribute to key meetings between Project Manager, Solution Architects, key customer contacts, and customer users, up to and including key executive project sponsors
- Ensure knowledge transfer is conducted with key customer as well internal project team
- Communicate business cases regarding customer specific needs related to product functionality and enhancements
- Work with business users to understand and define warehouse requirements, 'to-be' processes, and solution design
- Define solution architecture, provide inputs to Infra teams, integration teams
- Provide functional inputs to the project team; guide best practices and standards, etc
- Provide technical guidance for building extensions on the product, define deployment strategy
- Provide inputs for project planning, cutover planning, user training, test strategy, go-live support
- Support testing, UAT, hyper care and help to resolve issues
Key Skills/Knowledge:
- 10+ years of overall experience
- Last 5+ years have been part of end-to-end implementation of JDA (now Blue Yonder BY) Warehouse Management System (WMS), as Solution Architect
- Have experience in at least one end-to-end JDA/BY WMS Implementation project (greenfield and brownfield)
- Hands on in JDA/BY WMS (Discrete - version 2017 and above), experience in version 2020 will be an added advantage
- In depth knowledge of warehouse operations and supply chain processes for 3PL organizations
- Experience in soliciting requirements from business users, creating the requirements specifications document and recommending best practices for BY WMS implementation
- Conduct product design workshops/demos, create POCs on BY WMS
- Familiar with the differences in various versions of WMS and underlying database tables, views
- Define the end-to-end functional and solution design for WMS
- Define the Integration Solution design for WMS
- In depth knowledge of warehouse setup, inbound, inventory, outbound operations, yard management
- Perform product configurations
- Expertise in the product architecture, instance strategy, load balancing and performance considerations, implementation and deployment planning
- Good knowledge of integrator setup for different communication methods and for integration with ERP, labour, transport management systems
- Familiar with different MHE automation systems and integration touchpoints for the same
- Expertise in Moca Scripting, policies, archive setup, background jobs and tasks
- Knowledge of Web - UI/Page Builder, DDA, reports and labels development
- Experience on both on-premise and cloud instances, multi-site, multi-customer instance
- Experience in Agile based delivery and related tools.
- Knowledge of BY Parcel Handler, Cross Dock and other extended WMS solutions
- Knowledge of TMS, WLM and EMS applications
- Knowledge of RF development
- Knowledge of BY Connect, Mulesoft
- Familiar with product installation, infrastructure requirements, Rf and voice devices
- Change Management for global or regional program implementations
- Experience in client/stakeholder management,
- Effective communication and team management skills
- Experience in leading requirement/design workshops
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal & presentation)
